Thorax Duns are actually just a modification of the traditional Catskill style dry fly in that the wing and hackle are set a bit further back on the hook shank. Made for quiet water and finicky trout the hackle of a thorax dun is wound fore and aft of the upright wing then clipped on the bottom.
