Wilcox's Foam Sally fly represents the Little Yellow Stoneflies, better known as Yellow Sally's. The wing material I created for this pattern has a highly visible yellow top side while the underside has a natural mottled look adding an element of realism to this highly visible pattern. The foam wing material also provides the floatation necessary to fish in the faster moving water and riffles where stoneflies prefer to inhabit. The CDC underwing elicits more strikes portraying the fluttering action on the surface as these clumsy flying insects take off and return to lay eggs.
